Enlisting in the Canadian Army during WWII, Bill learned lifelong lessons of hard work and perseverance. Graduating from Western, Meds '52, with postgraduate training in neurology at Toronto Western Hospital, The Johns Hopkins University, and the (British) National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery-Queen Square, Bill returned to London to Western University to practice at Victoria Hospital, University Hospital and Sarnia General (St. Joseph's). Music was another passion and Bill was an enthusiastic member of the London Opera Guild, and Friend of the Canadian Opera Company. In later years, with typical vigor, he embarked on producing beautiful items of fine furniture, many of which now grace the homes of his family - a lasting reminder of this remarkable man.
