Director of Neuroscience Graduate Program - Applications Invited

Applications are invited for the position of Director of the Graduate Program in Neuroscience. The Graduate Program in Neuroscience is an interdisciplinary graduate program of the Faculties of Social Science, Health Sciences, Science, and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, with the Schulich School serving as the host institution. The Neuroscience Graduate Program provides graduate training and education in six fields: cellular, molecular and developmental neuroscience; computational neuroscience; neural substrates of behaviour, neuroanatomy/neuropathology; neuroimaging; and neurophysiology. The appointment begins July 1, 2011. It is expected the selection process will be completed in the spring to allow for some transition training prior to July 1, 2011.
The initial appointment will be for three years but may be extended beyond that period depending upon the desire of the Director and a favorable review of the program and the Director's leadership by the Steering Committee. Responsibilities include ensuring the overall academic quality of the Neuroscience Graduate Program, administering budget and personnel, student recruitment and support, liaising with participating Faculties and Departments, and the advancement of the Program.
Applicants must be core members of the Graduate Program in Neuroscience and have an appointment as a full-time faculty member in one of the participating Faculties. Specific arrangements relating to workload adjustment and/or administrative stipend are subject to negotiation with the successful candidate's Department Chair (if applicable) and Dean.
