Robert Bartha named Acting Chair, Department of Medical Biophysics

Please join us in thanking Robert Bartha for taking up the role of Acting Chair of the Department of Medical Biophysics for the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry effective July 1, 2010 until June 30, 2011, as Jerry Battista completes a year of study leave.
Bartha is a Scientist in the Imaging Research Group at the Robarts Research Institute and an Associate Professor in the Departments of Medical Biophysics, Medical Imaging, and Psychiatry at The University of Western Ontario. His research is focused on the development of high-field magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy techniques for early diagnosis of disease and monitoring of treatment response.
Bartha has developed strong collaborations with experts in chemistry, cell biology, and medicine. He heads an exciting team that includes research associates, post-doctoral fellows, technicians, and students with expertise in imaging, biology and chemistry. He holds an endowed research chair - the Ivey BMO Financial Group Brain Disorders Imaging Award, and in 2003 was awarded the Premier's Research Excellence Award from the Province of Ontario.
