Acting Assistant Deans named for Admissions & Student Affairs

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Michael Rieder will serve as Acting Assistant Dean of Student Affairs for the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, effective January 1, 2009 until August 31, 2009. He will provide leadership for the portfolio.
Dr. Rieder is the Section Head of Paediatric Clinical Pharmacology at The University of Western Ontario and Program Leader of the Children's Optimal Therapeutics Program in the Children's Health Research Institute. He serves as a consultant to both the National Institutes of Health and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Dr. Rieder has been awarded the Leon Goldberg Young Investigator's Award from the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, the KF Piafsky Award from the Canadian Society of Clinical Pharmacology, the Senior Investigator Award from the Canadian Society of Pharmacology and Therapeutics and a Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. Dr. Rieder also currently holds the CIHR-GSK Chair in Paediatric Clinical Pharmacology held in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Robert Hammond will serve as Acting Assistant Dean of Admissions for the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, effective January 1, 2009 until August 31, 2009. He will provide leadership for the portfolio.
Dr. Hammond is a Professor in the Departments of Pathology and Clinical Neurological Sciences and is a Consultant Neuropathologist for both London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph's Health Care. He served as Director for the Residency Training Program in Neuropathology from 1999 - 2004 and is currently the Chair of Admissions and the Faculty Advisor for the Student Wellness Program at Schulich. Dr. Hammond received the Schulich Excellence in Education Award in 2007.
