United Way Update

The Schulich Medicine & Dentistry/Robarts United Way Campaign is off to a great start. Please remember to fill out your pledge form and return it to Joan Estabrooks in M138.

PIZZA LUNCH WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
Thank you to everyone who supported the pizza lunch last Tuesday. We served over 260 people and raised $1,358 for our United Way campaign. Thanks again to Gerry Lahay at Hospitality Services for kindly donating the food and refreshments.

Congratulations to Debra Grant in Anatomy & Cell Biology for winning the two tickets to "The Drawer Boy," courtesy of The Grand Theatre.

Sincere thanks to the Pizza Lunch volunteers - Kathy Boon, Kris Dundas, Kathy Wallis, Bruce Arppe, Danielle Johnston, Melita Hayes, Yanti Setiawati, Dan Hardy, Deb Grant, Michele Grigg, Fred Williams, Western's sponsored employee Rob Atkinson, and the other sponsored employees who came to lend a hand.

COFFEE DAY
Hospitality Services donated 25 cents to the United Way for every large or X-large coffee or hot beverage sold at the Campus Eateries on Monday November 3rd. They also donated $1 for every travel cup sold. Thank you to our "Celebrity Pourers" who helping out behind the counter: Francis Chan, Chris Ellis, John Ruicci, and Stephen Sims.

PHYSIOLOGY AND PHARMACOLOGY FUNDRAISING SUCCESS

To show their support of the 2008 United Way Campaign, the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology sold 'sporty' blue wristbands to students, faculty, and staff. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Michele Grigg and many Physiology and Pharmacology graduate students, the Department raised over $700 for this year's campaign.

All wristband holders were invited to attend a special gathering on October 24th to celebrate the success of the Department's first United Way fundraiser and to show-off their new fashion accessory.
