Dr. Francis Chan Continues Role in Admissions & Student Affairs

Dr. Francis Chan has been re-appointed to the role of Associate Dean, Admissions & Students Affairs for the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry,
Dr. Chan, a professor in the Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology, received his PhD from the Department of Anatomy at The University of Western Ontario in 1976. In 1978 he returned as a faculty member and received promotion to Full Professor in 1995.
In addition to teaching anatomy and neuroanatomy to medical students, over the last 30 years, Dr. Chan has held a number of administrative and leadership roles; including Program Director of Western's International Exchange Program, and his previous decanal role of Assistant Dean, Equity & Gender for the Schulich School from 2001-2004.
Dr. Chan has received numerous awards in recognition of his contributions in education and service to students, including the Dean's Award of Excellence (Schulich), the Edward G. Pleva Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 3M Teaching Fellowship.
Dr. Chan's term as Associate Dean, Admissions & Student Affiars is from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2011.
