Schulich recognized for family medicine research

Dean Carol Herbert will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the North American Primary Care Research Group (NAPCRG) at its 35th annual meeting in Vancouver, October 20-23.
NAPCRG is a multidisciplinary organization for primary care researchers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and throughout the world. Its mission is to develop, disseminate and promote new knowledge regarding primary care.
Herbert has also been named an Honourary Fellow of the RoyalAustralianCollege of General Practitioners, for her work in reviewing its exam process and for her years of promoting family medicine.
Moira Stewart, an Epidemiologist in the Department of Family Medicine, has been named the "2007 Family Medicine Researcher of the Year" by the College of Family Physicians of Canada, Section of Researchers. The award will be presented on October 11th at the annual meeting in Winnipeg. It recognizes a researcher who has made original contributions to research and knowledge-building for family medicine in Canada.
Stewart is the Director of the Centre for Studies in Family Medicine and the holder of the Dr. Brian W. Gilbert Canada Research Chair in Primary Health Care. Her team has spearheaded research on patient-centred care and electronic health records for family practice.
