Grad Student Series on Rogers First Local
Wednesday, July 11, 2007
Crystal Pinarello of Rogers First Local is shooting and reporting on the contributions that graduate students make in our research laboratories. The first segment featured Chris Ellis, Ast. Dean of Research providing an overview and then a segment with Medical Biophysics PhD students Kim Blackwood and Eric Sabondjian explaining imaging techniques and stem cell research looking at heart disease. They work in the labs of Frank Prato and Terry Thompson at Lawson Health Research Insititute. The segment can be viewed by clicking onto http://communications.uwo.ca/weblogs/Schulich/July10.html
The series was the brainchild of Wendy Hough of Medical Biophysics, who has adapted nicely to the role of field producer! She has topics lined up to see the series through July and for as long as Rogers wants to continue. We're hoping it'll run through August as well, but it will depend on feedback.
The series will air Monday evenings at 5:30 pm on Rogers TV (channel 13) with repeats at 6:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m.
Next week's report (July 16) will feature Microbiology MSc student Tara Koyama who is studying probiotics with supervising scientist Gregor Reid.
