Dental students awarded summer studentships
Congratulations to Maher Alazzam (DDS 2021) and Kristen Desranleau (DDS 2020), who were successful (along with 9 other DDS Students) in being awarded a 2018 Dentistry Summer Research Studentship. Alazzam and Desranleau will be supervised by Drs. Amin Rizkalla and Doug Hamilton, and carry out their work in the Rizkalla lab.Maher Alazzam will work on a project entitled ‘Novel bioactive covalently bonded hybrid coatings on titanium surfaces', and Kristen Desranleau will work on a project entitled ‘3-D Printed Bioactive Glass-Copolymer Scaffolds for Bone Augmentation'.
The Dentistry Summer Student Research Program provides an opportunity for students enrolled in the DDS program to contribute to clinical and basic science research being performed in Schulich Dentistry.
