Dental students awarded summer studentships
Congratulations to Shokoufeh Yaseri (DDS 2020) and Andrei Zaharia (DDS 2019), who were successful (along with 13 other DDS Students) in being awarded a 2017 Dentistry Summer Research Studentship. Yaseri and Zaharia will both work in the Rizkalla Lab.
Shokoufeh Yaseri will work on a project entitled 'Surface functionalization of titanium with bioactive glass to improve osteoblast recruitment at implant surface', and Andrei Zaharia will work on a project entitled 'Novel bioactive, fast-setting and injectable bone cement for bone augmentation - continuation'.
The Dentistry Summer Student Research Program provides an opportunity for students enrolled in the DDS program to contribute to clinical and basic science research being performed in Schulich Dentistry.
