Greg Luvison (DDS 2017) attends CDA Conference
Greg Luvison attended the Canadian Dental Association’s National Conference in St. John’s, Newfoundland in August 2015. This trip was made possible through the CDA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Program Travel Award which was presented to Greg for his Summer Research poster presented at Schulich Dentistry's 2014 Annual Research Day, entitled "Bioactive, fast-setting and injectable bone cements for craniofacial reconstruction". Greg's work was supervised by Drs. Amin Rizkalla and Jeff Dixon.
Since the conference was held in Newfoundland this year, organizers provided a Newfoundland Screech-In ceremony where willing participants were 'screeched in" as "Honourary Newfies". Luvison remarks, "The trip was an opportunity to meet fellow student clinicians from across Canada and see their respective research. The conference also allowed me to interact with clinicians at a variety of stages in their careers and has given me more exposure to professional life after school". Luvison further commented, "Both taking part in the summer research program and attending the Canadian Dental Association’s conference are two experiences I will always remember from my time here at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry".
