Dear readers,
Welcome to the latest edition of Rapport ! We are thrilled to have you with us, as your engagement and support are vital to the ongoing success of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.
This issue is a testament to the power of partnership.
In these pages, you will see many stories that offer a blueprint for what can be achieved when we join hands to tackle the most pressing health concerns.
Against the backdrop of a dire community doctor shortage, we continue to work with our partners and supporters to increase the number of physicians for our region. Our cover story highlights some of these transformative partnerships, including a new program with Bluewater Health in Sarnia, Ontario, that will place dozens more future doctors in that community for immersive training.
Through substantial grants and philanthropic gifts, we are also building state-of-the-art research infrastructure and facilities to help us address infectious diseases here and around the world and drive drug discovery and development in Canada.
And, with substantial investment in neuroscience, medical imaging and aging – fields where our School has long been a leader – we’re continuing to harness the power of research to help us all live longer, healthier lives.
None of this incredible work would be possible without the power of community – our alumni, our donors, our hospital and research partners.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Hope you enjoy reading this edition of Rapport .
