Graduated with M.A. in Child Psychology and PhD in Clinical Psychology: Masters dissertation- Learning Theory & Piagetian approaches to children’s acquisition of number concept;
Doctoral Dissertation: Cognitive-behavioral approaches to the treatment of anxiety disorders.

Director of Crisis and Relapse Prevention Service at St Thomas Psychiatric Hospital: 1975 – 2003.
Part-time psychologist consultant, London InterCommunity Health Centre: 1990-2014.
Very involved in the design of mental health programs in rural settings as a member of the Thames Valley District Health Council. During this period involved in a prevalence study of farm-related suicide in response to ongoing economic pressures.

Research interests:
Models of ambulatory care services in rural settings especially for suicide risk assessment;
Suicidal phenomena related to motives, hopelessness, active and passive ideation, thinking dysfunctions; Depression following cardiac surgery;
Mood disorders in the bipolar spectrum and patient cognitive schemas regarding treatment.
