Biographies

Dr. Rob Nicolson

Dr. Nicolson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Chair of the Developmental Disabilities Program at Western University. Dr. Nicolson completed medical school at Western University before moving to The University of Toronto to do his residency in psychiatry. He worked as a visiting scientist in the Child Psychiatry Branch of the National Institute of Mental Health in the United States before returning to London.

Dr. Nicolson is a child psychiatrist whose practice is largely devoted to children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disability. He is a psychiatrist in the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Program at Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre and in the Autism Spectrum Disorder program at the Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI)in London.

Dr. Nicolson’s research is devoted to the understanding and treatment of children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disability. He has authored or co-authored 95 journal articles and 3 book chapters and, in addition, has presented more than 170 abstracts at scientific conferences.

Dr. Ajit Ninan BSc, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Ninan, HBSc, MD, FRCPC is a pediatric psychiatrist in clinical practice at CPRI in London, Ontario since 2006.  After 15 plus years primarily involved with inpatient services working with pre-adolescents, Dr. Ninan is currently involved in outpatient services.  He was previously involved as a child and adolescent psychiatry consultant at London Health Sciences Centre through the on-call system.

He received his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship training, as well as general psychiatry training, in Rochester, New York.  He is an Adjunct Professor at Western University, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Psychiatry. He received his Healthcare Management Masters Certificate from York University in June 2020.

Dr. Ninan has served as the Medical Director of CPRI since 2010.  As the Medical Director of CPRI, he provides professional guidance and overall management in the delivery of high quality and effective clinical services at CPRI as a member of the Senior Management team.   

Dr. Gani Braimoh

Dr. Gani Braimoh completed his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Adler University (formally, the Adler School of Professional Psychology), Chicago, USA.

He is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ont. in the following areas: Clinical, Health, & School Psychology in Child, Adoles., and Adults. More recently, Dr. Braimoh completed a Mental Health Law certificate from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Ontario.

 Dr. Braimoh works at Child Parent Resource Institute (C.P.R.I) as the Clinic Lead at the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Clinic, where along with the psychiatry and other team members provide a comprehensive assessment, consultation, and treatment recommendations to children and youth referred for query of mood and anxiety disorders.

 

As well, Dr. Braimoh is employed as a Clinical Health Psychologist with the Thames Valley Family Health Team at Victoria Family Medical Centre where he provides diagnostic assessment, short-term treatment, and consultation for children, adolescents, and adults on mental health problems such as Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, PTSD, ADHD, school issues, and Stress Management.

Dr. Naveed Rizvi M.B., B.S , FRCPC

Dr. Rizvi is a consultant Psychiatrist at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Care program at LHSC and at the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Clinic at Child and Parents Resource Institute (CPRI).  He is also the Medical Director of the Tele-Mental Health-Western Hub at Vanier Children services.  Dr. Rizvi has a special interest in Mood and Anxiety Disorders Psychopharmacology, and Telepsychiatry. Dr. Rizvi enjoys teaching and regularly provides clinical supervision and lectures for the medical student, residents and fellows.

Dr. Khrista Boylan MD FRCPC, PhD

Dr Boylan, MD PhD is a child and youth psychiatrist and researcher at McMaster University. Her expertise is in the treatment of youth with emotional dysregulation and suicide risk behaviours. She leads several research studies at McMaster Children’s Hospital designed to optimize clinical care provision to high risk youth and their families. She is the Medical Director of Child and Adolescent Ambulatory Psychiatric Services at McMaster Children’s Hospital.
