This learning event will feature brief oral, symposia, and poster presentations from faculty, clinicians, researchers, trainees, students and community partners from Western University’s Department of Psychiatry, the Lawson Health Research Institute – Mental Health Group, Parkwood Institute Research – Mental Health Care, and Southwest Centre for Forensic Mental Health Care.
The keynote speakers are:
Dr. Tarek Rajji:
Dr. Rajji is Deputy Physician-in-Chief of Clinical Research and Chief of the Adult Neurodevelopment and Geriatric Psychiatry Division at CAMH, as well as a Clinician Scientist in CAMH's Campbell Family Mental Health Research Institute. He is also a Canada Research Chair in Neurostimulation for Cognitive Disorders, and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Heather Stuart:
Dr. Stuart received her PhD in Epidemiology from The University of Calgary, Alberta. She is a Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences, and cross appointed to the Department of Psychiatry and the School of Rehabilitation Therapy at Queens University.
Mr. Brett Batten:
Mr. Batten is a former St. Joseph's forensic patient and is now a sought-after award-winning speaker and community advocate. Brett advocates for mental illness awareness especially when there is confusion surrounding individuals with mental illness coming into contact with the justice system.
