Inpatient Mental Health Care Program
The Inpatient Mental Health Care Program serves children and adolescents under age 18 requiring short term inpatient admissions for crisis stabilization.
The program serves children and adolescents who present with mental health difficulties such as: mood disorders, suicidal behaviour, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, and acute symptoms of distress related to family or personal crisis, abusive experiences, experiencing or witnessing traumatic events and changes within the family.
The inpatient mental health care program offers assessment, stabilization, treatment and coordination with community resources for follow-up treatment planning.
Inpatient Services are delivered by an interdisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, social workers, family therapists, psychologists, nurses, child and youth counselors, medical consultants, teachers, and office support staff.
