Dr. Khoodoruth earned his MD from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, and completed his Psychiatry residency at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Qatar in 2021, during which he served as Chief Resident and became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK). He went on to complete a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at HMC in 2024, the same year he obtained a Master's degree in Genomics and Precision Medicine from the College of Health and Life Sciences at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar. His master's thesis focused on investigating inflammatory markers as potential biomarkers in treatment-resistant schizophrenia.
Dr. Khoodoruth has an extensive publication record, with over 30 research publications, including 17 as the first author. His research interests include the epigenetic and genetic mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental disorders, treatment-resistant schizophrenia, psychiatric proteomics, vaccine hesitancy and precision child and adolescent psychiatry.
Dr. Khoodoruth is passionate about working with young children, adolescents, and their families to improve and foster mental health and well-being. He is committed to providing compassionate care and innovative treatment approaches tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
In 2023, Dr. Khoodoruth received the Early-Career Research Award and Outstanding Performance in Psychiatry Award from the Arab Board of Health Specializations, along with the Paramjit Toor Joshi MD International Scholar Award from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP).Publications Link
