Drs. Barbra de Vrijer, Kevin Coughlin and Genevieve Eastabrook have been awarded $50,000 for the successful renewal the Children’s Health Foundation grant entitled, “Preventing childhood obesity: Improving metabolic health in the first 1000 days of life”.

CHRI-Translational Research Grant Fund, 2018 Competition

Drs. Barbra de Vrijer, Charles McKenzie, Timothy Regnault, and Genevieve Eastabrook have been awarded funding from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Children's Health Research Institute Translational Research Grant Fund to start their collaborative research project entitled, “Impact of Metformin and Insulin on Fetal Fat Development in Diabetic Pregnancies”.

Whaley Fellowship, 2018

Drs Michelle Mottola and Barbra de Vrijer were awarded the Whaley Fellowship for their project entitled, “Dietary, physical activity and anxiety profiles among obese pregnant women”. This fellowship will be used to support Dr Roberta Bgeginski to complete a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in London.

Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health and Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (CIHR/IHDCYH/SOGC) Team Grant - Apr 2016

Barbra de Vrijer and Genevieve Eastabrook with co-investigators Victor Han, Peeyush Lala, Charles McKenzie, Debbie Penava, Timothy Regnault, Trevor Shepherd and Samuel Siu were awarded a Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health and Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (CIHR/IHDCYH/SOGC) Team Grant of $746,764 for 5 years. Matching funds were provided by: Children’s Health Research Institute (CHRI) and Children’s Health Foundation; the Dean's office; Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology; and Women’s Development Council. This multi-disciplinary team focuses on maternal cardiovascular and metabolic health, placental function, and fetal health and involves a prospective cohort of women and infants followed throughout pregnancy and infancy.

Drs Samuel Siu and Genevieve Eastabrook with Co-Is Drs. Sarah Blissett, Barbra de Vrijer, and Robert Hegele have been awarded CRSG funding for the research project entitled, “Cardiovascular Health After Pregnancy in Women with Heart Disease”.
