Dr. Robert G. Colcleugh
MD, FRCSC, FACS
Dr. Colcleugh is a Western graduate, trained in General Surgery at McGill University, who came to London to be the first resident in the Plastic Surgery program with Dr. Robert McFarlane. He underwent post fellowship training in Craniofacial Surgery and started the Craniofacial Program at Western which consisted of a multi-discipline team of surgeons, dentists, psychologists, physiotherapists, and nurses. In addition, he was the first Director of the Victoria Hospital Burn Unit in the 1970's. In the last years of his career he practiced aesthetic surgery and created a private surgical centre across from Victoria Hospital. Throughout his career he enjoyed teaching most of all, and took pride in having helped so many people to become outstanding plastic surgeons.
Dr. Colcleugh served on the UWO Board of Governors for 9 years and was Chairman of the Board at Western from 2002-2005. In 2005 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws at Western and the same year received the Dr. Ian Smith Award; Western Alumni Association's highest honor.
Retiring from practice in October, 2014, Dr. Colcleugh currently enjoys time with his family and friends. He has also resumed an old career in music and has built his own recording studio in London.
