Kathy Zhang

Short bio: Prior to studying medicine at Western Unviersity, I completed my undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University, worked in research and completed a Master of Public Health (Queen's University).  My experiences broadened my perspectives in research, healthcare, and their intersections with the sociopolitical landscape.  I gained appreciation for diverse experiences and social determinants of health. I enjoyed building skills in statistical methods to help answer important questions.  Ingenuity, diverse problem-solving, and mastery of technical skills are among the many inspiring and challenging things that drew me to plastic and reconstructive surgery.  Beyond medicine, I enjoy reading, running and gaming.  I love working on digital illustrations as well as picking up my brushes for traditional media. I am grateful to call London home for the next few years and thrilled to train with the incredible team at Western!
