Description of Research Activities: Recent work in the area of health services involves examination of factors which help to translate research findings into clinical practice, in particular the use of information technology in facilitating research and knowledge transfer. The impact of new technologies (e.g., the Internet, wireless transmission, mobile computing devices, the electronic health record) on the provision of health services and patient care, and in health education. The role of leadership and leader teams in implementation and use of information technology in health care and in creating collaborative communities for health improvement. The dissemination of basic and clinical research work to the lay public, particularly the role of the media.
