New displays mounted in MSB
"Wounded! Front-line Medical Care during the First World War" -- showcasing objects from the Medical Artifact Collection at Western is now mounted in the hallways cases alongside MSB 146 and 148. See the German medical kit acquired on Vimy Ridge by Captain Herbert Charles Allison (1891-1971), a Regimental Medical Officer with the Canadian Army Medical Corps. Allison graduated from Western's medical school in 1914.
In the neighbouring case, stop to read several medical student posters presented at the 2015 History of Medicine Days national conference at the University of Calgary last month. Photos from this conference as well as the 2015 History of Medicine Colloquium at Western are also on display.
Check out "Somebody Call the Doctor: Rural Medical Practices in the Late Nineteenth Century" -- a new 4-case display located on the 2nd floor of the Lawson Hall building. It includes medical objects from the Fanshawe Pioneer Village collection as well as the Medical Artifact Collection at Western.
