Trainee awarded the Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers
Congratulations to PhD Candidate Ornela Kljakic on receiving the Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers.
Kljakic, who is completing her graduate training with the Prado Lab at Robarts Research Institute, was recognized for her advocacy of education and literacy programs. She is a long-time volunteer with Frontier College, and has spent more than five years as a volunteer tutor with at-risk students and mentored new volunteers. She also supports literacy programs for young readers with the London Boys and Girls Club.
The Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers is the highest honour young Ontarians can receive for volunteer service.
Lieutenant Governor of Ontario Elizabeth Dowdeswell presented the Medal to Kljakic and eight other recipients at a special event on April 19.
