Congratulations to Jacqueline Dron, MSc Candidate, and Amy Burke, PhD Candidate, for receiving awards at the recent Canadian Lipoprotein Conference in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Dron received a Presentation Award for her research entitled, “Elucidating the Genetic Determinants of Extreme High-Density Lipoprotein Phenotypes using Next-Generation Sequencing”. Burke also received a Presentation Award for her research entitled, “Naringenin Supplementation Enhances Plaque Regression and Improves Lesion Pathology in Ldlr-/- Mice with Established Atherosclerosis”.

Medical Biophysics

Congratulations to Tomi Nano, PhD-MClSc (CAMPEP) Candidate, for receiving a first-place poster award for “Improved Image Quality in X-Ray Images with the Apodized-Aperture Pixel (AAP) Design”. Nano is supervised by Ian Cunningham, PhD.

Ajay Rajaram, MSc Candidate, recently had his first paper published as first author. The paper is entitled, “Joint Blood Flow is More Sensitive to Inflammatory Arthritis than Oxyhemoglobin, Deoxyhemoglobin”.
