Short Bio
Dr. Michael Sey is a gastroenterologist specializing in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at the London Health Sciences Centre and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Western University. He has a cross-appointment in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and is a Scientist at the Lawson Health Research Institute and the Program of Experimental Medicine. He completed his MD at the University of Toronto and his Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology residencies at Western University. Dr. Sey trained in Advanced Endoscopy at the Indiana University Medical Centre, Clinical Trials Development at Harvard Medical School, and completed a Master of Public Health at Harvard University. Currently, he is the Regional Endoscopy Lead for Cancer Care Ontario-Southwest. His clinical interests include double balloon enteroscopy, capsule endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, and endoscopic mucosal resection/submucosal dissection. His research focuses on gastrointestinal bleeding, advanced endoscopy, and quality in endoscopy and he has led multi-centre randomized controlled trials, prospective cohort studies, and systematic reviews and meta-analyses in the field of gastroenterology.
