A Toast to 2017 Photo Gallery

On Friday, January 27, the students, faculty, and staff of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics met for a celebration of the new year, at "Cheers to Us: A Toast to 2017". This event was hosted by the Western Epidemiology and Biostatistics Student Council (WEBSC) and held at the Wave.

Dr. Saverio Stranges, (Department Chair, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics) presented flowers in congratulations to Dr. Greta Bauer (Graduate Chair, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics) on her promotion to Full Professor and Dr. Janet Martin (Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics) on her promotion to Associate Professor with Tenure. Both promotions will be effective July 01, 2017.

Also, Alex Ratzki-Leewing, WEBSC Departmental Student Representative, spoke warmly of Dr. Guangyong (GY) Zou (Professor, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics) and his ability to inspire his students and help them become passionate learners, as she announced him as the winner of the 2015-2016 Teaching Excellence Award. He was presented with a mounted certificate and his name will be added to the award plaque display outside the main office for the department.

It is events like this that make a department into a community. Cheers to the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and to 2017.
