Program of Experimental Medicine (POEM)
The Program of Experimental Medicine (POEM) mandate is to pull together, strategically and operationally, the research activity of the Department into a single structure. POEM offers both individual and departmental support through a variety of services. For a complete list of services and resources please check the POEM website.
Services Overview
- Statistical Support: All DOM Practice Plan members and Basic Scientists with a primary appointment with DOM, in their role as PI, have access to 15 hours of statistical support per calendar year from our POEM Statistical Analyst.
- Health Record Support: POEM will pay up to a max/year (contact POEMadmin@lhsc.on.ca for amount of support) for health record chart pulling services from the Health Information Management department at LHSC or Health Information Management department at SJHC for DOM Practice Plan members. This service is for non-industry sponsored research only.
- Resident Research Project Support: POEM will maintain a list of potential research projects suitable for residents. Project information is shared with residents in December and June of each year.
