Janet Martin
Dr. Janet Martin began her career with a focus on evidence synthesis and knowledge translation for drugs and health technologies in the hospital setting. Realizing that evidence synthesis alone was insufficient for decision-making, Dr. Martin implemented HiTEC (High Impact Technology Evaluation Centre), the first hospital-based health technology assessment (HB-HTA) unit in Ontario.
To allow hospital leadership to place their healthcare decisions into their unique institutional context, Dr. Martin developed and implemented the Know4Go Framework which integrates evidence + economics + ethics + ‘everything else’ that matters. She co-founded the MEDICI Centre with the purpose of supporting decision-makers with evidence-based decision making and knowledge translation, working closely with the areas of anesthesia, perioperative and critical care, and surgery.
