Research Activities
Dr. Basmaji completed his medical degree at Western University and residencies in internal medicine and critical care at Western University. Following his residency training in critical care medicine, he completed a fellowship in deceased organ donation science with Trillium Gift of Life Network. Dr. Basmaji is completing his PhD at McMaster University in Health Research Methodology, with a focus on prospective study design, systematic review methodology, and clinical practice guideline development. He is joining the Division of Critical Care Medicine at Western University as a clinician scientist and an assistant professor, with a cross appointment in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. His research will focus on studying the impact of point-of-care ultrasound in the management of shock. Using point-of-care ultrasound as a platform for research, Dr. Basmaji’s goal is to develop a standardized framework for the systematic evaluation of resuscitative health technologies in critical care medicine.
