Fiona Li
Fiona Li is a fourth year PhD student from Western University under the supervision of Dr. Ting-Yim Lee and Dr. James Koropatnick. She completed her undergraduate degree in Medical Physics at Ryerson University in 2014 and is currently pursuing her degree in Medical Biophysics. She has also enrolled in the Clinical Medical Physics and Molecular Imaging program. Her research focuses on developing tracer kinetic analysis methods to derive functional and physiological information from dynamic PET and CT scanning. She is currently using the developed methods to evaluate response to drugs targeting epigenetic activity in tumors and to evaluate the kinetic behavior of two different PET tracers in imaging prostate cancer. As most drugs including cancer drugs are cleared by the kidneys, her other research topic is to develop a point-of-care non-invasive optical method to measure kidney function which can lead to personalized cancer drug dosing.
