Research Interests:
Our research aims at identifying associations between disease incidence or prognosis and elements of the genome (e.g. RNA and DNA characterized by genome-scale assays). Our focus is towards characterizing two main systems, the immune response and gut microbiome, and their interplay with one's lifestyle and exposure to elucidate their involvement in human normal physiology and disease. Using this information, we will hopefully suggest new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases.
Current Projects:
- Identification of signatures to predict treatment response in breast cancer
- Single-cell genomics of immune responses to cancer
- Microbial single-cell transcriptomics
- Contribution of the brain-gut-microbiota axis in health
- Sperm epigenetic markers of male infertility
