Dr. Leeda Barshardost, Resident’18 has been appointed as a doctor at Munson Healthcare's Neurocritical Care team. Munson Healthcare is northern Michigan's largest and leading healthcare system.

Dr. Dalia Kashash, MD’04 is joining the Chatham Kent Health Alliance as a hospitalist. Kashash, a lifelong resident of Windsor, earned her bachelor of science degree from the University of Windsor in 2017. She obtained her medical degree from Western University and completed her family medicine residency at Queen's University.

Dr. Louise Moist, MSc’00 Resident’99 has been appointed as the William F. Clark Chair in Nephrology, effective September 14, 2024, to August 31, 2029. Dr. Moist is the Chair/Division Head of the Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine, at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, and the Head of the Renal Program at the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC).

Dr. Jane Philpott, MD’84 will be taking on a new role with the Ontario government, effective Dec. 1, 2024. She will be stepping down as dean of Queen’s Health Sciences to chair and lead a new primary care action team.

Dr. David Steven, Resident’02 who is the head of the clinical neurological services department at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), has been named the interim chair of LHSC’s medical advisory committee, effective October 14, 2024.

Brad Urquhart, PhD’06 has been re-appointed as the Associate Dean, Basic Medical Sciences Undergraduate Education (BMSUE) at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, effective September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2030.

Dr. Erica Van Daalen, Resident’09 has been named as the chief of staff at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. She has been named to the post after serving as the emergency department chief for the past four years, hospital officials said in a statement. She also served as a physician in the medical centre’s chemotherapy unit.

Dr. Matthew Weir, MSc’13 has been appointed as the Dr. Adam Linton Chair in Kidney Health Analytics at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, effective October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2029.
