COVID-19 Information for Residency Programs - December 9
Dear Program Directors,
We received guidance re: movement between (St. Joseph’s Health Care London (SJHC) and LHSC late yesterday afternoon that was incorporated into the PGME slides this morning. I also wanted to send it out officially as well for you.
- Physicians, residents, fellows and students are not able to rotate to SJHC from University Hospital until further notice. (nor can they rotate to Victoria Hospital, or really anywhere…)
- Anyone who has been working at UH requires 14 days of self-isolation/quarantine before beginning work or learning at SJHC (or Victoria Hospital).
- Physicians, residents, fellows and students who have worked clinically at Victoria Hospital may work at SJHC if alternative arrangements cannot be made.
- Efforts to reduce routine movement between institutions should be considered.
- Exceptions to any of the above rules may occur in scenarios for providers that are part of a group of individuals that provide specialized services AND the group is too small to cohort AND their services are required at more than one health care facility/site. When these conditions are met the individuals moving from one site to another MUST use all applicable infection control practices and PPE to minimize the likelihood of transmission of disease.
- The above rules will be evaluated on an ongoing basis and at least weekly.
Thank you again for your time, work, patience, everything.
Lois
