Building a culture of research
With the Windsor Program now in its seventh year of operation, we are investigating new ways to coordinate, support and celebrate the research endeavors of our faculty.
Selinda Berg, librarian for the Windsor Program, is working with Denise Figlewicz, PhD vice dean, Research & Innovation; Gerry Cooper, PhD, associate dean, Windsor Program; and Nicole Sbrocca, manager, Windsor Program to develop a strong and productive research culture within the Program.
A few of the initiatives have already gotten underway. Students and faculty have been connected to research support services. They now have access to a variety of helpful research support services including assistance with statistical analysis, writing and editing services, Health Canada data sets, publication assistance, and limited funding opportunities.
In the coming months, there will be more promotion and celebration of student and faculty research and outreach for those interested in research. Watch for more stories about the research of our faculty and students in the Windsor Program Newsletter, as well as other Schulich Medicine & Dentistry communication vehicles such as the website, the YouMe Blog, The Pulse…the list goes on. Research news will also be posted on the Research and Scholarship bulletin board in the Medical Education Building.
All faculty and students are encouraged to send news of their accomplishments so that it can be shared. A new database will be developed to track and monitor the research being undertaken by our faculty and students. This will help us to gain a better understanding on the level of research being undertaken and track growth, as well as achievements.
During the coming months, more research initiatives will emerge.
You can send your achievements and forward any questions you may have to Selinda Berg for more information.
