Celebrating your achievements
Dr. Susan Koval was recently appointed as an Honourary Member of the Canadian Society of Microbiologists (CSM) for her distinctive and distinguished contributions to microbiology in Canada and internationally. The award was presented to Dr. Koval by Dr. Chris Yost during the President’s Banquet at the 66th Annual Scientific Conference of the Canadian Society of Microbiologists. During the award presentation Dr. Koval was recognized for her past leadership and sustained commitment to supporting the CSM and microbiology research in Canada. Dr. Koval has been actively involved in CSM activities for 38 years and was the third female president of the CSM. She has made impactful research contributions to our understanding of structure and function of prokaryotic surfaces and the biology of predatory prokaryotes such as Bdellovibrio. The CSM is honoured to include Dr. Koval as one of its distinguished members.
