Students Say Thank You

Erica Lee is fulfilling her dream of becoming a doctor. As the only member of her family to attend university, the road to this point, has been one of hard work, perseverance and learning how to accept help from those around her. That help has come from some of the most unexpected places, including a donor who funded a scholarship she has received. This scholarship has given Lee the opportunity to focus on things that she is most passionate about, without having to worry about pending debt.

When the opportunity arose to say thank you to donors who had supported scholarships for medical students, she was pleased to join in and share her gratitude.

Held in early May, more than twenty five people gathered together for the intimate event hosted by Dr. Michael J. Strong, Dean.

Receiving the scholarship has also inspired Lee to think about her own future support. "When I was struggling to make ends meet, I made a deal with myself" she said, "I decided that when I attain my goal of becoming a physician, I will create a scholarship for students in need."
