Bio Sketch

Dr. Adrianna Ranger is a Paediatric Neurosurgeon at the Children's Hospital, London Health Sciences Center and an Associate Professor in the Departments of Clinical Neurological Sciences and Pediatrics at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed her medical studies at McMaster University in 1993 and subsequently completed residency training in Neurosurgery at Western University in 1999. After a Fellowship in Paediatric Neurosurgery at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa, Dr. Ranger returned to London to commence practice in 2000.

Dr. Ranger is the Research Chair for the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada and a member of the Board of Directors. She participates on the Medical Advisory Committee of the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Ontario.  

In her academic role as a Clinician Teacher with the Departments of Clinical Neurological Sciences and Pediatrics, she oversees the Undergraduate Surgery Clerkship Selective in neurosurgery for medical students and she is also a member of the Undergraduate Surgical Education Committee, Neurosurgery Residency Competence Committee and Residency Program Committee.  She is engaged with peer-review activities for practicing colleagues through participation on the Appointment and Promotions Committee for the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences.

At the provincial level, she has been a Registration Assessor/Peer Reviewer for the CPSO since 2013.  She is a member of the Canadian Medical Association, the Canadian Neurological Sciences Federation (Canadian Neurosurgical Society) and the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery. 

Her main area of interest is pediatric brain tumors, but Dr. Ranger’s clinical practice includes the spectrum of pediatric neurosurgical conditions (neoplastic, congenital, trauma, hydrocephalus and vascular) in addition to adult trauma and neuro-oncology.
