On October 18, 2019, the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, hosted Our Brains, Our Future: 50 Years of CNS at RBC London. The event consisted of a Scientific Symposium and Gala dinner to celebrate its 50-year Anniversary.
Scientific Symposium
The Scientific Symposium consisted of 4 moderated sessions by local and guest speakers who are experts in their respective field. The sessions focused on the future directions of neuroscience in relation to medical education, imaging, cognition and translational research. The Symposium was a great success with approximately 150 attendees who represented physicians, residents, health professionals, community organizations, and the interested public. In addition, each session concluded with a Q&A which sparked great discussion between attendees and presenters.

Gala Dinner
The Department’s Gala Dinner featured presentations from past chairs and distinguished faculty on the historical beginning of the Department of CNS and our alumni’s, faculty’s and student’s achievements. Over the course of dinner, we will recognize the accomplishments of our faculty and alumni, and the Department’s contributions to the health care community. In addition, the Department was estactic to introduce distinguished alumnus, Dr. Roberta Bondar, to provide the keynote address. Her presentation on the importance of embracing change was both inspiring and enlightening.
