My favourite thing about Western: I love that literally everyone bleeds purple. You won't meet anyone who doesn't love being a "stang" and who isn't afraid to show it!
Why I chose the BMSc Program: The BMSc program is quite different from most science programs in the sense that BMSc actually offers students the opportunity to tune in on specific aspects of medicine that a normal life science program wouldn't typically offer. I really like Microbiology and Immunology 2500A/B as well as the Physiology and Pharmacology 3000E lab.
The best place to study on campus: Fireplace lounge!!!
My favourite class: Physiology 3120 for sure! It's definitly a must for anyone that geeks out over the human body just like me!
Best place to eat on campus: This is a tough question - it's a tie between the Spoke and the Grad Club for me. I live for the turkey bagelwich on the jalapeno cheddar bagel but Thursday afternoon nachos at the Grad Club are definitely a highlight of my week too!
Best way to meet other BMSc students: My closest BMSc friends and I actually met during the group component in the second year Biology 2290F/G course (shout out to the methods peeps - you know who you are!).
Three words to describe being a BMSc student at Western: The three words I would have to choose would be driven, passionate and motivated.
What I to be when I grow up (future goals): Definitely a career that involves one-on-one interaction with individuals and something that'd allow me to apply knowledge of the human body on a daily basis. Most importantly, I'd want a career that challenges me on a daily basis and encourages self-growth.
Best thing about being a student at Western: The best thing about being a Western student is really just everything Western offers. From Rick's on Wednesdays to Spoke Bagelwichs to the beautiful campus, everything's amazing!
Advice to students considering Western: "Live life to make stories"
My campus/community extracurricular involvement: This year I'm volunteering with the Let's Talk Science group at Western and I'm VP - Community Outreach for the Right To Play club as well. In Let's Talk Science we go to elementary schools and conduct cool science experiments with the kids, which is loads of fun! The role of VP - Community Outreach with Right to Play involves not only volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club of London but helping to organize the entire volunteering experience as well! And I can't forget to mention the good memories that were made playing intramurals as well!
