Postdoctoral
What is a postdoctoral scholar?
Postdoctoral scholars already have PhD degrees and research experience from their years as graduate students. Postdoctoral positions allow scholars to expand their research horizons, foster their independence, and publish their research. The postdoctoral years serve as stepping stones to the next stages of the scholars' careers.
What do postdoctoral scholars do?
Our department supports an active community of postdoctoral scholars, who play an important role in advancing research in faculty labs. Such scholars receive further research training under the direction of faculty, publish research results, participate in the Biochemistry seminar series, and often supervise graduate and summer students.
