Anatomy & Cell Biology (ACB) offers a competitive stipend for all students enrolled in our graduate programs.


Students enrolled in the MSc or PhD Biological Research (thesis-based) program will receive at least the base stipend for the full length of the program:

  • MSc: The guaranteed base stipend timeframe is 24 months, or 6 terms.
  • PhD: The guaranteed base stipend timeframe is 48 months, or 12 terms.

Students enrolled in the MSc Anatomy and Cell Biology, Clinical Anatomy (course-based) program will receive at least the base stipend for the full length of the program:

  • MSc: The guaranteed base stipend timeframe is 20 months, or 5 terms.

Stipend levels: ACB guarantees every student the minimum stipend (base amount); however, ther are opportunities for students to increase their stipend (as seen below). Students that accept Graduate Teaching Assistantship (TA) positions, or receive awards and scholarships in a given year will increase their stipend for that year. 

Clinical Anatomy students teach as part of the curriculum but can also receive a higher stipend should they successfully obtain a scholarship.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for scholarships in their 4th year of Undergraduate studies or prior to submittng an application to our programs - scholarship dates and deadlines are located on the SGPS website. There are several scholarships and training grant awards available to ACB Graduate students to help increase stipend levels. ACB faculty have extensive knowledge and experience in submitting scholarship applications, and can help pre-review an application prior to submission.

Students that seek assistance in scholarship applications have a higher success rate. Approximately 60% of our students received a major scholarship last cycle.
